Endoscopic spine expert

Dr. Derman’s practice is not a comprehensive spine care destination. Instead, we are hyper-focused on providing endoscopic procedures, particularly for those who have been offered traditional spine surgery elsewhere and are seeking a better solution.

During endoscopic surgery, Dr. Derman places a narrow camera through a dime-sized incision, allowing him to “scope” the spine. He watches the action on a high-definition screen and uses specialized micro-instruments to remove pressure from pinched nerves in the neck and back. Patients generally experience immediate and dramatic pain improvement and are comfortably discharged within hours. Those traveling for surgery can fly home the next day.

Procedures

  • Endoscopic procedure to remove herniated disc fragments and alleviate sciatica while preserving muscle, maintaining motion and removing little to no bone.

  • Endoscopic removal of bone spurs and overgrown soft tissue to treat spinal stenosis causing pain, numbness, tingling, fatigue and even weakness in one or both legs.

  • Endoscopic removal of bone spurs and/or disc herniations in the neck, which can cause arm pain, numbness, tingling or even weakness.

  • While endoscopic techniques are Dr. Derman’s preference, not everyone is a candidate. A variety of other minimally invasive options may be an option. These include tubular decompression, disc replacement and minimally invasive fusion.
